DEPARTMENT OF COMPUTER SCIENCE

General Introduction

Department of Computer Science is one of the five departments under the Faculty of Computer Science and Engineering at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (VNU-HCM), established when the faculty was founded in 1993. The department is responsible for teaching various subjects related to the foundations of Computer Science and Computer Engineering, focusing on in-depth training and research in the following areas:

• Artificial Intelligence
• Applications of Machine Learning and Deep Learning
• Digital Image Processing and Computer Vision
• Natural Language Processing
• Foundational Mathematics for Computer Science and Applications
• Programming, Programming Languages, and Applications

The courses under the department's responsibility

Some of the courses the department is currently responsible for at the undergraduate level are:

– Programming Techniques (CO1027)

– Data Structures and Algorithms (CO2003)

– Principles of Programming Languages (CO3005)

– Discrete Structures for Computer Science (CO1007)

– Mathematical Modeling (CO2011)

– Introduction to Artificial Intelligence (CO3061)

and some elective courses such as: Algorithm Design and Analysis, Computer Graphics, Digital Image Processing and Computer Vision, Machine Learning, Game Programming, Mobile Application Development, etc.
