1978

Establishment of the Computer Science Department

The predecessor of the Faculty of Computer Science and Engineering was the Computer Science Department, under the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology.

1985

Separated into the Computing Center

In 1985, the Computer Science Department was separated and became the Computing Center.

1993

Establishment of the Faculty of Computer Science

By 1993, the Faculty was officially established with the initial name of Computer Science and later renamed to Information Technology.

2007

Renamed to the Faculty of Computer Science and Engineering

In 2007, the faculty was restructured into the Faculty of Computer Science and Engineering, as it stands today, to meet the increasing demand for human resources in line with the country's development.
