On December 26, 2024, the 2024 Annual Conference of VNU-HCM took place at Tran Chi Dao Hall. The VNU-HCM Board of Directors shared information about the remarkable results and achievements that the entire system has accomplished over the past year. The Faculty of Computer Science and Engineering, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology - VNU-HCM, continued to leave a brilliant mark with outstanding accomplishments in the fields of scientific research and technology.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Quan Thanh Tho, Dean of the Faculty of Computer Science and Engineering, was honored with the “Outstanding International Publications Scientist” award for 2024 by VNU-HCM.
With relentless efforts, he has:
- Published 213 works in leading international conferences/journals.
- Achieved 2,538 citations on Google Scholar—a clear testament to the broad impact of his research.
In 2024, he made 21 outstanding international publications, including:
- 5 Q1 journal papers (including 3 in the top-20 Q1) with a total Impact Factor (IF) of 32.956.
- 5 rank-A conference papers—top-tier conferences in the field of computer science.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Quoc Cuong, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Computer Science and Engineering, along with Dr. Le Trong Nhan and MSc. Nguyen Cao Tri, were also honored with the “Outstanding Application Work” award for their research “AI/IoT Applications in Environmental Management at Tram Chim National Park.” This project was conducted in collaboration with researchers from the University of Wollongong, Australia, and was funded by the Australian Government through the Department of Foreign Affairs and CSIRO.
These achievements are not only a source of pride for the Faculty of Computer Science and Engineering but also contribute to groundbreaking advancements in teaching and research, further establishing the Faculty as one of the pioneering units of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology - VNU-HCM.
